The teaching of God’s Word through Compass Church has been truly blessed, and we are grateful for the prayers and financial support that allow the Gospel to reach all corners of our community. This guide is here to help you discover ways to partner with Compass in this important mission while making the most of the resources provided by the Lord. Every prayer and gift is meaningful as we proclaim the Good News of salvation. When we do so, God is rightfully glorified (Psalm 96).
We are excited to collaborate with you in sharing knowledge and strategies for giving. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about the information and ideas in this guide. THE COMPASS CHURCH STORY
Compass Church has a rich history dating back over 155 years. With 3 locations and fresh growth of new believers and members, it is more evident than ever that our dreams are greater than our memories. A multi-generational congregation, Compass Church continues to reach people of all ages. We are committed to sharing God’s love with our community and worldwide.
Our best days are in front of us, and Hope for the Coast ensures our future ministry is funded and effective. From the early days of the church, God has raised up people to serve and support
the growth. Today, it falls on us to ensure the church is in the strongest position to thrive and reach its fullest potential. Hope for the Coast will take care of our debt obligations and propel us
to new heights of sharing God’s love everywhere.

THE PROGRESS
Since August of 2023, the Hope for the Coast committee has been meeting, praying, and planning to launch the initiative at the beginning of 2024.
The goal is to raise $4.5 million over the next three years. The committee believed that God would help raise $2 million before the start of the initiative. With the leadership of the church already responding positively and making pledges, not only has the first $2 million been pledged, but over $600,000 in cash has been given!
Over $500,000 has already been sent to the bank to pay down the mortgage principle. Paying off the mortgage will save the church over $3.6 million in mortgage and interest payments.
While paying off a loan doesn’t sound all that exciting, it will be a gamechanger for Compass Church and the amount of ministry to our community we can facilitate. You are helping turn the mortgage into ministry!
MORTGAGE TO MINISTRY
The Hope for the Coast committee plans to pay the mortgage as quickly as possible. With the first $500,000 being paid off, we are now $2 million away from paying the whole mortgage

The savings to the church have a real impact. It frees up resources to be used directly for ministry.
THERE IS MORE GOOD NEWS!
At the same time we are paying off the mortgage, ministry and outreach at Compass are accelerating. With plans to bolster the current ministries, a simultaneous effort is being made to reach thousands of new people with the love of Jesus right here in Monterey County. From big community events for Easter
and the 4th of July to a Hope for the Coast stadium crusade/festival, Compass Church is more determined than ever to tell as many people about Jesus as possible.
With your help, Compass can achieve this vision. So much has already been done, but there is so much more to complete. Here is your chance to affect the future story of the church. Thanks for your faithfulness and support.
Just like when Jesus was preaching, and the crowd of people had not eaten, He multiplied five loaves of bread and two fish and fed more than 5,000 people (Mark 6:1-14), God will multiply your efforts as we take steps of faith with our generosity.

COMPASSION PROJECTS
From our global partners, Convoy of Hope, to our local partners like Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Young Life, Set Free Monterey Bay, and The Food Bank for Monterey County; we are leading this initiative with a compassion-first mindset. It is more blessed to give than receive, and we generously support our ministry partners who multiply the efforts of Compass Church.
CURRENT OUTREACH
Compass has had great momentum with several current outreach efforts. We will reinforce our outreach for Easter and Christmas events, online church, social media, and large prayer gatherings
EXPANDED OUTREACH
Our goal is to reach 50,000 people each year with two large Easter outreaches (Salinas and Marina), Celebrate America at the Rodeo Grounds, a large Hope for the Coast Festival, and a massive planned baptism at Lover’s Point
Hope for the Coast is filled with compassion, strategic ministry, and sound fiscal choices.
MINISTRY STAFFING NEEDS
The Marina Campus will receive its first dedicated campus pastor. Our Children’s Ministry staff will expand as we become better-resourced for families. Adding a Sports Ministry Director will allow us to fully leverage our gym, parks, and relationships to reach families better
MORTGAGE TO MINISTRY
The church is taking strategic steps towards the future by retiring all of the remaining debt. With a current servicing cost of $300,000 annually, this decision will enable all three Compass locations to be paid in full. The Hope for the Coast Initiative will help turn the current mortgage obligations into a source of fuel for future ministry. This inspiring move will empower the church to focus its resources on meaningful initiatives that align with our mission.
TAKE ACTION
This initiative propels us into the next great season for Compass Church. Compass Church has always thrived because of the dedication and faithfulness of those who call it home. Just as the church was strongly established more than 150 years ago and has made an eternal difference with many generations, God is asking this generation to strengthen and renew our commitment to sharing the love of Jesus with Monterey County and around the world.
